Commemorate the life of a loved one by planting a tree

The Huron Hospice Memorial Forest - a living memorial that will grow and flourish over the years. A tree symbolizes strength, shelter and durability; it is a living tribute and source of comfort to those who have suffered loss.

The Memorial Forest is located behind the Huron Hospice, along the Tranquility Trail (an official trail of the Bayfield Trail Association).  Trees can be ordered online, by clicking the link below, or by calling our office. Ten different native tree species - both deciduous and evergreen - have been selected to create a mixed forest suitable for this area.

In the fall, trees will be professionally planted by Verbeeks Farm and Garden Centre. Orders after August 31st will be processed the following year. The cost of a tree is $395.00, which includes a substantial tree with a five-year warranty program, planting and the name of your loved one on a memorial sign at the entrance of the trail.

An official income tax receipt will be issued for each tree order.

A dedication service will be held each year on the first Sunday after Thanksgiving at 2:00 pm at the entrance of the forest. All are welcome to attend.

This program is open to anyone who wishes to remember the life of a friend or loved one. A green legacy for future generations to enjoy!

The species and location of the trees are determined solely by the staff of Verbeeks.
